Obituary for Sandra Lorraine Gemignani

Sandra Lorraine Atwell Gemignani of Easton, MD, formerly of Stevensville and Arnold, died on Thursday, January 27, 2005 at Memorial Hospital at Easton, after a heroic four year battle with cancer.

Born March 29, 1948 in Annapolis, she was the daughter of George and Dolly Jones Morris of Stevensville, MD. After graduating from Annapolis High School in 1966, she attended Anne Arundel Community College. During her working career, she was employed by Anne Arundel Community College, and then worked as a training administrator and word processing specialist for Martin Marietta for twelve years, followed by a position as Computer Administrator at NIH until retiring in 1998. She won several awards for her developments in word processing that were published in many trade magazines.

A member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Easton, she was also a member of the Kent Island American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and a volunteer at the Regional Cancer Center in Easton. She was a former member of the West Annapolis Vol. Fire Dept. Majorettes and a former member of the Fleet Reserve Club of Annapolis.

A good mother and a kind, giving person who enjoyed life and being with her family, especially her grandchildren, she passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Gemignani is survived by her husband, Hugo G. Gemignani, whom she married September 6, 1991; a daughter, Kimberly L. Voshell and her husband Barry, and a son, Ryan C. Atwell and his wife Julie all of Easton; a step-daughter, Janie Melissari, and a step-son, Scott Gemignani both of Pasadena; one sister, Cindy Riggin of Crownsville; and seven grandchildren, Karleigh Voshell, Tyler Voshell, Tristen Atwell, Trevor Atwell, Courtney Melissari, Johnny Melissari, and Jeffrey Gemignani.
