Christine Elizabeth Moheiser
May 8, 1948 – April 20, 2025
Christine Elizabeth (Dignen) Moheiser was given the gift of life on May 8, 1948, in Eastport, Maryland. She spent her youth in Annapolis and could often be seen at her father’s barbershop downtown. At 18, Christy graduated from Annapolis High School in 1966 before going on to study at Frostburg State University.
On January 22, 1972, she married the love of her life, Tom Moheiser. For the next 53 years, the two were rarely seen apart outside of work. Their marriage was beyond inspirational to those around them and it was with one another that they shared the biggest smiles, laughter, and joys.
Christy was beyond proud of her children, whom she raised with a velvet hammer of direct feedback wrapped in unconditional love. As a mother, Christy was constant and fierce—she walked beside her children through every phase of life, offering support, strength, and wholehearted encouragement.
Once her children reached adulthood, she transitioned from medical transcription to full medical practice management, a role she held for over thirty years. Around the office, staff often joked that while her husband was the one in the U.S. Navy, it was Christy who truly knew how to run a tight ship.
She was a force of nature. Everyone always knew where they stood with Christy and guests never left her home without a full stomach and a warm hug. She was sharp of tongue, quick of wit, impeccably dressed, and endlessly generous with both her time and her spirit for anyone who needed it. Together, she and Tom sponsored midshipmen for years, ensuring far-from-home service members had a family home nearby in Annapolis. After graduation she stayed in touch providing guidance and expanding her family across the country.
In 1998, Christy’s first grandchild was born. With each that followed, her heart expanded beyond measure. For the next 27 years, her world joyfully revolved around her grandchildren. She found delight in sewing Halloween costumes, taking them shopping, correcting lacrosse officials, and supporting school fundraisers all over Maryland for what she lovingly called her "beautiful, perfect grandchildren."
When not on a sideline or at a sewing machine, she could be found watching westerns, making crab dip, feeding her Starbucks addiction, or traveling the world alongside her dearest friends. She was a mentor to several, a friend to many, and undeniably a child of God.
Christy departed for heaven on April 20, 2025. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Howard and Bonnie (Starkey) Dignen.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Thomas Moheiser; her brother Michael (Eileen) Dignen; her children Matthew (Shawn) Moheiser and Caitlin (Rick) Haskett; nephews Christopher and Brian Dignen; and her beloved grandchildren Stephen Moheiser, Thomas Moheiser, Jessica Haskett, Alyssa Moheiser, Elizabeth Haskett, McKenna Moheiser, Hunter Haskett, and Grace Moheiser. Her loss is felt deeply by her family, friends, and church.
How lucky we were, to have someone in our lives who made saying goodbye so unbelievably hard…
