It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Douglas Schenker (Glen Burnie, Maryland), who passed away at the age of 72, on September 3, 2020.

I grew up with Hal as his neighbor and classmate.  He loved his music, and was really proud of his Amelia Earhart production.  He had a great spirit - I never heard him complain about his condition when I saw him.  May his Memory be for a Blessing.

Hal Douglas Schenker also known as H. Douglas Schenker & Doug Schenker of Annapolis,
died September 3, 2020 at the age of 72. Mr. Schenker was born May 12, 1948, in Annapolis. He was the son of the late Samuel Schenker and Bert Ellis Schenker. He graduated from Annapolis High School, Salisbury State College and Widener University School of Law.  He practiced law for many years.  Mr. Schenker was a songwriter and producer. He conceived, produced, wrote or co-wrote the songs for the 2003 album and musical play Amelia's Journey, as well as the 2005 album Cinderblock & Board Days by Hard Broccoli. Mr. Schenker was co-producer of John E. Starr’s solo album Open All Night. He was the founder and CEO of Samberhalo LLC which first produced the play to great reviews and sold out audiences at Chesapeake Arts Center Studio Theatre in 2004.  

Surviving are, his brother Louis Jay Schenker and three nieces Carrie Schenker, Melissa Schenker Escavage, and Julie Schenker and special friends Fay Myers Butcher (who he met in first grade at Germantown Elementary School in Annapolis), Christie and Ralph Tuznik, William J. Butcher, and Mary Butcher.

He was a member of Entrepreneur's Exchange, co-chair of the Annapolis
High School Class of 1966 reunion committee, member of the Mayor of
Annapolis's Committee on Special Events (1983), a member of the
Board of Directors of First Night Annapolis for three years. Mr.
Schenker was also a member of the Anne Arundel Bar Association, Maryland
State Bar Association, Bankruptcy Bar Association of Maryland and the Washington
Area Music Association.
